Overwhelming Flood kills Many In Venezuela!

For days on end Venezuela has been hammered with torrential rains. The result is thousands of homes destroyed and so far at least 20 people killed in the aftermath.  The flooding is so horrendous that the Capital, Caracas, even declared a state of emergency.  More than 5,500 people e are homeless and that number is expected to rise. Even the roadway to the capital has been overtaken by mudslides.
One can hope that the weather phenomenon known as La Nina will not cause Venezuela another humongous tragedy like the one that hit in December of 1999. Those floods killed approximately 30,000 people.
